Terri has a spotless home and breakfast was absolutely delicious. After a long flight we found the power showers and comfortable bed to be a warm welcome. This place is a bargain for what you get. A quiet country setting and close to Dublin airport.
The Old Forge was great for two jet-lagged travelers to spend our first two nights in Ireland. We had a very relaxing stay, and were able to take in the beautiful, historical countryside of County Meath.
One of the first things we noticed was that our room (#2) had a very clean feel to it that you don't find at some establishments. Two other things that really stood out about this B & B were:
1. Terri's breakfast was not only delicious, but she gave it a little extra flair with a nice presentation.
2. The shower in our room was the best of four B & Bs we stayed at in Ireland. You can get this shower as powerful as you please.
We (me and my two kids) booked just two days before we arrived at Dublin Airport and came late at night to The Old Forge. We had a warm welcome and enjoyed the night in the lovely room. With a delicious breakfast in the cozy breakfastroom and some nice talks with Terri we started our holiday. Terri and Greg have been so nice and friendly and one can feel the love they bring into each corner of their house. I thought it will be hard for our next B&Bs as we start as perfect and I was right. None could reach the standard of feeling at home and as welcome like in The Old Forge!
We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone traveling around Dublin. It is a beautiful old forge located on amazingly scenic property. Terri and Greg are wonderful people who really try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms, food, and company were fantastic. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when we return to the Dublin area. more

I look forward to a repeat visit. The B&B is spotlessly clean with beautifully decorated rooms. Power showers with plenty of instant hot water.... more

Terri has recently opened the forge as a B&B and has refurbished all the rooms in keeping with the original decor. There are power showers in... more

On my recent visit to Old Forge I learned why an earlier reviewer declared it to be his favorite B&B. The building appears to be new or newly remodelled. It was spotless. New fixtures in the bathroom. Plenty of water pressure. Conveniently located to take in the attractions in county Meath like the passage tombs. Teri is a friendly sort... more

The Old Forge lies in open country about half an hour's drive NW of Dublin and its airport. Terri and Greg are a welcoming couple for whom nothing is too much trouble. The bedrooms are simply furnished, but comfortable; the en-suite has a power shower. Breakfast is provided freshly cooked from a wide menu and a freshly cooked dinner is... more
